Death of a Monday
I'd like to first start off by thanking every single person that attended the meet tonight. You guys took up the call and delivered. Tonight, we went out strong.
LADSM has been meeting at that same spot for longer than some of us had our DSMs. Tonight the cops came at 11:30 and ended it. They'll probably be there again next Monday and the Monday after. We're now faced with a decision I personally didn't want to ask us to make. We can continue showing up to OUR Monday Meet and keep risking the cops showing. We can meet there on another night or we can move the Monday meet to another location.
I personally am willing to keep showing up every Monday but I know most of us would rather not risk unnecessary interactions with the cops.
Let me know how you guys feel about this. Once again, thank you all for showing up in strong numbers. If this is our last real Monday Meet for a while, I don't regret a thing.

Re: Death of a Monday
How depressing. I'm going to have to let this brew a bit before making a decision. Part of me *really* wants to stay there b/c of how long it's been a part of our club. I might be up for waiting a few weeks then trying the same spot. Idunno. I'd like to think about it a bit more. Way to go out with a bang. That was a great meet with a lot of DSMs and plenty of new faces. Whatever happens, I was really energized by the number of people that showed up tonight and would like to see the club continue to grow.

Re: Death of a Monday
I really hope this isn't the end of the Monday night dsm meets. This was my first ladsm meet, and it was nice to actually meet and converse with fellow dsm enthusiasts. I know I didn't go up and meet every single one of u guys, but I did meet a few of you. I may be a new member and my suggestion may be disregarded by some of you for that reason, but I think ladsm should keep meeting there on Monday nights since it's been tradition for I don't know how long. I remember hearing you guys say for like the past 6 years or something like that. I understand that the uncle ben's boys burned the spot, but the cops went straight to the circus and didn't even come our way until afterwards. But by that time, we were all already leaving. So i'll chip in my $.02 and say we meet there next Monday and see if the fuzz cracks down on the spot early or not. And besides, Im supposed to be picking up my 14b next Monday.

Re: Death of a Monday
It could have just been for last night due to that incident. I say we show up again. Same bat time, same bat channel. If the Fuzz shows up again and tells us to leave, we need to find another spot (at least temporary for now) and take it from there.

Re: Death of a Monday
Another thing we can do is talk to Starbucks and target and let them now what was going on. That we weren't part of that circus. You guys have been there for a while and they can understand why we would still wanna meet up right there. This meet had a really good turn out I counted 20+ dsms and a few members who brought there DD. I say there's no harm in letting starbucks know what happened and we were a different group.
