Re: looking for 420a auto motor It will work. As long as the trans is compatable with your wiring harness (as it should be lol) it will bolt up the same.
However some of the sensors may have changed (not positive) just make sure all the sensors hook up when you drop the motor in. If not just swap them out for the ones on your 97 engine.
Pretty much only differnces on the 420a years is plugs/sensors
Unless your dealing with 95/96+ hah I learned that the hard way.
