My vatozone T stat didn't have any O ring, it was an actual gasket that went between both. And even if he did have an O ring there if the surfaces weren't clean it would still leak.

damn thanks for that info but they keep telling me it doesnt have a gasket just the o-ring but either way im still overheating.
I started the car with the thermo it warmed up pretty quick then just stayed below below normal then I let it idle without the cap all the air kept coming out. So I let the fans turn on at this point my gauge was reading more then half then droped down to exactly half then went up and down all over again. I put the cap on and im still overheating so what do you guys thing it is. I havent ran the car it overheats when its idling.

Did it continue to bubble with the cap off? Could be a bad HG if so.

No it stopped bubbling thats why I put the cap back on the water was solid no bubbles at all. I don't know what it could be the water pump is new it was working fine when I took it off. Im guessing the head might be clogged with something or either I was given a bad radiator but it doesnt leak or anything.

Anyone else have something to say that might help me find out what is wrong. Oh yeah since I added the sealant thing it overheated more then it did when there was no sealant on there.

Thanks justin Im going to get on that how to I touch the core tho if the fans are in the way you mean touch around were the radiator hoses go or what.

Another thing today in the morning I took the radiator cap off and I couldn't see coolant inside and the reservoir tank was almost empty. I added more antifreeze and the car would keep temperature and stay normal the fans never turned on and the car was at normal heat so I looked and said well no bubbles at all put the radiator cap on and it started to overheat. Also while the cap was on and off the radiator hoses were hot.

The radiator is hot all around so im guessing that is not it. How can you unclog something if there is a clog somwere. Is there a way to find out if I have a bad water pump I can see the water moving through the filler neck. Can somebody else tell me something im tired of taking the METRO lol.

i'd say at this point, go somewhere to have your cooling system pressure tested. eliminate leaks in the cooling system.

if you can tolerate it, but really want to drive the car, drive it. once it starts 'overheating', turn on the heater and put the vents on the defroster and that should bring down the temp needle a lil bit.

as far as the water pump goes, if you see water flowing through the filler neck, i think it's safe to assume that the pump is working properly...

I haven't followed this thread consistently so I'm unsure if its been asked. I apologize if it has. But have you done a block test to make sure your headgasket isn't leaking?

gordon well the motor was rebuilt and im guessing they should have done that but im not sure. So far I have eliminated

water pump (you can see water just rushing through filler neck)
thermostat(overheats with or without one)
radiator(its hot all over)
cap(new overheats with or with out it on)

I know its going to end up being the headgasket and I dont have that much cash to fix that I know im going to have to get the head and block resurfaced.

Do a compression test and either rule that out or confirm that's the problem.
