Well I didn't want to make my old thread longer so I just started on this one. I keep searching on google I type things like adding antifreeze topping off how to add antifreeze on a 4g63 eclipse but nothing. Vfaq just tells me things that dont relate to what im saying. I have searched but doesn't tell me exactly how to do it. I did it the way christ said and clint said as well.

Here is everything about my car.

It has a new rebuilt short block with 29 miles.
New headgasket
No leaks anywere ( maybe around were the lower radiator hose hooks up to) its not a alot 2 drops at best
New thermostat I bought this one when I was over heating at the meet when me gus and sam stayed till like 1am way back.

Things I have noticed that may be the issue
Really really soft lower radiator hose
the little sensor on the thermostat housing is just a stripped wire wrapped around the sensor.
The lower radiator hose keeps bubbling up when it starts to overheat and I can hear boiling inside.
Also the water line from the turbo that goes in the water pipe boils as well.
Can it be the thermostat since it has been closed about 1month and a half or it locked or something.

Oh yeah when I over heat it just moves up a little bit very minimal nothing dramtic. I was told its normal for a rebuilt motor I call BS.

Yeah they do. Here is something I forgot to mention it starts to overheat when I drive it idling it doesn't do it. Then it bugs me that when I grab the lower radiator hose I can hear it bubbling.

You have a front mount?
What fans are you using?
Radiator cap?
Did you get all the air out of the cooling system?

you dont have the air all out yet, if it did that. Also, the front mount blocks air from coming in. I have my fans on all the time to counter that issue.

I have only read this thread so I don't know what else you've done. But I'd change my radiator hoses, add water wetter, and upgrade my fans.

Keep the stock fans as long as you can, they flow more air than anything aftermarket. Only reason to change em is A- they died, or B you dont have room because of IC pipe or big ass turbo.

When it over heats and the lower hose it hot and bubbly, how is the upper? If the upper is cold and lower is hot and bubbling, then your thermostat is stuck shut. Just because its new doesn't mean its good.

To get the air out, turn on the heater full blast, jam a funnel into the filler, and add coolant till it cant take more, turn on the car and let it idle till it warms up and suck the coolant down. Then keep adding till it wont take anymore. Also change the radiator cap, just because its a good thing to do, also its cheap.

Whoever told you that you need to let the car idle for 4 hours and that its normal for a rebuild to overheat, they should get kicked in the nuts. Just kick em, and don't even say why you did and walk away.

Well yeah the bottom hose is hot and bubbling but the top hose is not hot enough to burn my hand I can grab it and I can literary leave my hand there for like 10 seconds with out it burning. The lower hose bubbles alot and you can hear it. Im guessing I have a bad thermostat can they locked or f'ed up if they stay closed for a month and a half. Also the lower radiator is super weak it was worser then you lower hose Sam. Also jerry my front bumper is not on so can my front mount still cause issues even tho is never did.

change that lower hose. The FMIC usually is a problem when you are sitting there in bumper to bumper traffic, if you can keep tempurature sitting there, then its not the problem.

Yeah thats what im saying it doesnt over heat when idling and just sitting there parked. When I start to drive it it over heats slowly and stay at the same temp until I let it cool down.

Well looks like im going to be getting rid of my car or just selling it. I know the thermostat is good I know the rad cap is good the radiator it self is good. I went ahead and did what I never wanted to do and check the exhaust when I put my hand behind it my hand felt wet or something. Then I called my bro told him to give it some gas like a rev it a little and I see water just shoot out from behind not a lot but some. Im guessing the head I got from the motor that I bought wasn't good either. Can someone brighten my day or tell me the bad news if I have to pull the head again or do some more engine or headwork im getting rid of the car for good this time.

sure its not condenstion?? It'll do that. Also one of the byproducts of combution is water. Are you running coolant or water? If you are running coolant, it'll smell sweet when it burns.

and, is it smoking? or just water droplets? if the car's warmed up and operating temp and maybe even driven around a lil, and it STILL does that, then maybe you have a problem.

There is no white smoke and yeah its just droplets but they kinda shoot out when you rev it. I rev it but no smoke just droplets or water.

Sam I did put a gallon of antifreeze then needed some more so I added water. I keep adding water. Everytime the fan turns on I have to add water since it goes down is that normal or no. While idling there is no smoke.
