1G is pretty easy. Remove battery and tray. Unbolt through-bolt holding mount to bracket (probably easier done from under with a friend on top holding the nut with another wrench. The the mount comes out from the top. If you are flexible and have a universal joint and long extension, you can get to the through-bolt from the wheel well.

you can strattle yourself on the motor, have your left hand come down thru the battery area(batt removed) and have your right come down off the back/side of the intake manifold( drivers side). Makes it pretty simple.
If you dont want to buy the insert you can window weld it. Just make sure you do light coats, and they cure for a good amount of time before you add the next one
