 Gray smoke well it looks like my 170,--- mile 4g63 is about to die. Everytime i sit for a long time in idle then take off grayish color smokes come out the tail pipe for a quick moment then goes away. I was wondering if anyone know any engine shops around the la area that sells 6bolt 4g63's i could buy beside Soken.

Re: Gray smoke Your turbo is leaking oil. When it idles, the oil pools up and burns when you start spooling it up. Make sure your return line isn't clogged then either rebuild or replace the turbo.

Re: Gray smoke OR, your valve stem seals are shot.
does it smoke AT idle? the longer you idle the worse it gets?
do you smoke while cruising? do you smoke at wide open throttle? do you blow a puff of smoke when you shift gears?
if u answered no to the last question, you most likely have crap valve stem seals.
at idle, oil from the head will seep through the valve stem seals and enter the combustion chamber where it'll burn, and the longer you idle the worse the smoking.

trust, i drove my car like that for like 4 months, i even got a note in a parking lot cuz my car smoked.
