Shop options in Los Angeles
I've been calling Road Race for the past month trying to get my car in there. Space has been "freeing up next week" for the past 3 weeks, so I have to start looking at alternatives.
My cylinders needs to be honed and I need new pistons, along with new main bearings while the motor is apart.
I want to do this once, and once only.
What are my options?

Pull the motor yourself, and find a machine shop to do the work for you.

Re: Shop options in Los Angeles
I'm going to give you a suggestion. These guys are in the San Fernando Valley and located in Van Nuys. Its called C & A auto repair. They specialize in DSM's and the owners use to work at a Mitsu dealership since the 80's until the recent recession closed it down, so they opened up their own shop. The owners name is Chai and co owner is Art. They fix little things on my car for an exchange of a beer. lol

You can try GT Fabrications in, um, Buena Park I think?? Right near Valley View and the 91. There's a guy there named Culver that used to work at RRE. The downside is that they're extremely expensive, and I believe they're usually as busy as RRE is.

Re: Shop options in Los Angeles
Culver at GT Fab used to work at RRE. Lod here at RRE used to work for RRE then then went to GT fab, and then came back here. They have some experience with DSMs.
