and just to specify, yes you will need an AFPR with the 255 BUT you need to get one that can LOWER fuel pressure, as well as raise it. Aeromotive makes a nice, fairly cheap AFPR that fits the bill. make sure to get the liquid filled gauge kit option to monitor the pressure. Good luck! |

The use of a AFPR is recommended with a 255lpm pump. NOT MADATORY. I and many others have used the stock regulator and had no problems. And yes your low fuel trims wont be very linier, but I have seen no detrimental effects of the top end by not having AFPR. Now if raising your fuel pressure is your intension to prevent leaning out up top than yes I can see it being more of a necessity. But if your injectors are large enough, with a 255lpm rewired it shouldn't be a problem. I am making well over 300whp on the stock regulator. Now dont get me wrong my car could idle a little better or have a bit more linier part way throttle, oh and the overly rick back fire is annoying too. |
