Dose any one know if i have to get the ECMtuning obd2 usb wire or any obd2 usb would work the same or is there a difference?? thnx

The new one v3 like i used a regular wire and it wont work like its not installing the usb port when i turn the program on it only gives me com1 on the configure connection.... wut should i do?

You have to install the USB drivers first.

The v3 cable has a Serial to USB adapter built into it. You need to use their drivers.

The Link cable isnt a standard OBDII cable, its their own proprietary cable and only works with their flash chip and software.

Are you going to be tuning the car yourself?

well i wanna learn but for now i dont need to tune i just wanna be able to tune it in a way so i can drive it to RRE after i install all my parts to tune it there...

i downloaded the v3 program from the website.... isnt it the same?

V2 and V3 hardware is different. You can use the V3 software from either or, but the hardware is different. Did you buy your DSMlink new or used? <~answer that one.
Its more than just the program on the website, its a chip that has to be soldered into your ECU, and a cable they make specificaly to work with that chip.

thx for the help but i am selling my car now i am not ganna fix it up or anything any more cant afford to keep it anymore...
