Going for it. Been having issues with holding boost with the 16G. The stock actuator has an 11lbs spring in it. At the boost numbers I'm pushing once the waste gate opened up, it couldn't pull the door shut anymore. Did some voodoo magic v-tec molesting to the waste gate actuator and now it has a 18lbs spring in it. Before mod - Max I can get out of the 16G. After mod - Die mofo die!! |

What does it settle down to by the time you hit redline? I'm having huge problems holding boost on my 16g b/c of the big flapper not to mention the amount of air that the 2.3L breathes. Right now I spike to 22psi at 3,200rpm and it bleeds of to 16-17psi. =( I'd like to crank it up more, but i start getting knock b/c of 8.9:1 pistons if I let it spike over 22psi. Damn, I need a good wastegate setup. Don't have the cash to get my MV-S put together. |

by redline im only getting 1psi more (22psi). It'll still do that if I took the line off the actuator and not let the flapper open. The biggest thing was keeping the boost right after peak. If you watch the curve (red) on the before plot, you cant see it spikes 27 and drops immediately to 24 and creeps up to 26 and tapers back to 21. Now it Spikes 28 and tapers in a linear fashion. I make up for the lack of boost up top with timing. That after log is just the initial pull, just to log boost. Now have timing turned up to 18* at redline. |

i guess i can say that i'm dealing with a similar issue. When my 16g was newer and the car was off it's fresh motor build, i hit 23psi and it tapered off very little to redline. now i'm lucky if i see it holding 20 for more than a sec. sad thing is, i remember the car being so much more violent back in those days. |

Time of death: 06-22-2010 @ about 12:30am. Confirmed death: 06-24-2019 @ 5:45am. Finally after a year of beating the piss out of this thing. Anti-lagging, and pushing it past its max. It is finally dead I did notice in its recent days that it wouldn't make as much boost as it used to, no matter how much I'd crank that boost controller up. So the journal bearings died, and the shaft is now wobbling. Its making a glorious 2 psi at 7K RPMs howling like a raped cat. Fairwell good friend, you were fun, and we had great times, but its time we go our separate ways. Its not you, its me. HoeSluts HX35 time! |
