 Engine Problem
Okay this just started a couple days ago and it seems to be getting worse. I have a oil leak, so i have to add oil all the time. Well i procrastinated it and let it get really low and it started making this clanking noise inside the engine. I added oil and it's at the normel level but still making the noise.
So if anybody could help me out maybe tell me what i could of damaged let me know please

 Re: Engine Problem
Hard to tell from your post, but if the sound is like a loud clanking sound that speeds up as the rpm goes up then it sounds like rod knock.

 Re: Engine Problem
Thats wat it sounds like. When I idel its fine, but once i start to roll and start getting passed 2 grand. You can really start to hear it.
Does this harm the engine pretty bad if you keep driving it like this?

 Re: Engine Problem
+1....NEVER run your car when dangerously low on oil. If the sound is very pronounced (louder than lifter tick), you're positive it's not an exhaust leak, and it ramps up w/ the increase in RPM of the engine, you've got some pretty bad damage.

 Re: Engine Problem
Just keep driving it and you'll know for sure what it is soon enough.
