 overheating as well
i didnt want to post this in the other thread since i dont want to thread jack. but yeah my car is overheating like crazy. replaced the radiator, new thermostat. now i was reading on the other thread that if the bottom hose is hard and bubbly its the t-stat. well mines the upper rad hose that is hard and bubbly. i have a funny feeling its the water pump. what do u guys think?

Have you checked the rubber seal on the radiator cap? Might as well check the easy stuff first.

ok. so i changed the radiator cap. and i purged the cooling system of all air. and nuthin car still over heats. the upper radiator hose still gets pressurized like crazy. and it overheats.... damn this is breaking my head trying to figure this out.

The upper radiator hose should get pressurized when the system gets hot. A functioning radiator cap is supposed to let pressure build to a certain point and then open to let coolant into the overflow.
What is going on with your car as far as front mount and cooling fans?

Is the bottom hose hot? when my thermostat was bad the bottom hose stayed cool.

Yeah dude run with out a thermostat if you still over heat you have a bad pump clogged something. Just run without one like they told me and you can rule some stuff out. I never did it but my over heating is very minimal and I mean minimal nothing serious. Im still going to run without a thermostat to see what happens. When you put in your thermostat there is a jiggle thing on it make sure its up top that can also cause it to overheat so I read.
