Well, its on its way to being done. I took the trans out and disected it monday. Tuesday, washing and inspecting everything, put together a new diff, and welding up the bell housing. There was also a hole in the diff housing part of the bell housing from a spider gear tooth punching through it. Today, re-assembled gear stacks, changed out the 3-4 shift fork because it had a stress crack, and put the stacks back in the housing. Attached ring gear to diff and put it all in the bell housing portion of the trans. Tomorrow will set diff preload, inputshaft endplay and intermediate shaft preload, seal it up and put it back together. Friday its going back in the car. Saturday...RACING IT! Enjoy the pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So the trans had one of those phantom grip differential inserts. NOT A REAL LSD. It does make both wheels spin though by putting pressure on the two spider gears that the axles go into, locking them together, forcing them to spin at the same speeds. Technically it is a LSD, Limited Slip Diff. It Limits slip between the two wheels until force can overcome the pressure binding the two spider gears. But it fails in the part that the abuse is still put on the stock spider gears in the diff so its just as strong as a stock diff only. My take on the insert, great for your average Joe not looking to make 300+hp trying to break into the mid 13's. 16G guys running 15psi, 14B and t-25 guys. AFC tuned with a pocket logger on 91. |

no...no lsd. Couldn't get the two halves to hold together to slide it into the diff. Plus it was kinda fubar'ed. Didn't want to shell out the $$ for a real LSD because I'm planning on moving to an AWD platform soon. |

Are you goning to convert is to AWD or buy a GSX/TSI and drop your motor in it? because there is a GSX on the board that is getting parted out |
