Hey, I've never worked on a 2g, so i'm not familiar w/ the engine bay. When pulling the engine/trans together, is it easier to pull it out the top, or drop it down from under the car? |

when i pulled my motor from the junkyard i did it from the top and didnt have a problem doing it... just make sure you have everything unplugged etc. |

Take the hood off, all the coolant lines and motor mounts. Then lift it right up (if you have a leveler it makes your life that much easier). |

Done, and done. Pulled Ryan's engine today. Yeah, load leveler helped. Had a problem though. The a/t has a really low pan, and when we angled the engine, the trans pan would pinch that chassis brace that sits below it. Took half an hour to figure out what was getting hung up. It was hot as hell out, too. Other then that everything went well.   And, b/c I know all you biatches want it...

not 100% sure if all of the front end was pulled off for the taking out of the engine, but this is how it should look when you pull an engine with the most little work possible.

So this is how it started.... The other day, Eric and I were having so much fun pulling stuff off my car that before we knew it... the whole front end was off!! I lie... actually I'm going to part that one out once the swap is done so I figured we might as well get that stuff out of the way |

^^^lol Ryan's getting rid of the car in the pics, moving the engine over to his new 2g. I believe he is stripping it for parting out, as well as moving other parts over to the new car. Tell you what though, it makes it damn easy to work on everything w/ the whole front end out of the way. |
