 Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
Okay so today I went to Road Race Engineering to pick up my Sparkplugs and wires NGK. So I get home and go to autzone to buy the sparkplug socket I thought it was 5/8 no its 13/16 haha big. Below are the old sparkplugs NGK bpr5es they look black like a mofo. Also pics of the new wires and sparkplugs mike said to go with bpr7es my eclipse is stock everything. Oh yeah what should I gap the new spark plugs to. I know its from .28 to .31 right. Well Im leaving right now to autozone to buy the gap quarter thing I forgot about it haha. Maybe someone can tell me what gap I should use while I come back here are some pics. Also tell me why they look so black and what might have caused it. thanks. PICS New setup

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
.031 should work well at stock boost. I would use either a wire gapping gauge or feeler gauges to gap them. Those little quarter things are not very precise.

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
Alright so I guess I will gap at 31 yeah I kno those quarter things are not precise but its all I can buy right now. I will try my best to gap them according to 31 of a inch. I will gap on 32 maybe that is 31 on the quarter well I will let you guys know how it goes.

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
I personally prefer .028 on stock to mild setup. If the spark ever blows out then go .026

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
off the rre site.
Spark plug gap should be set at .030" for up to 16psi boost. Set at .028" for 17psi and up.

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
hahaha Well I gapped them now the spark plugs wires have nooooooooooooooo spark I think my coil is F'ed up. I like this you fix one thing then something else goes and you have to fix that eclipse FTMFW haha. What does it mean is the spark plug wire throws spark from the sides of the black thing. It throws them right into the spark plug but you see a really dim I mean really dim spark. The black part of the spark plug wire throws little spark from the sides. hhhhhmmmmmmm

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
Alright guys help me out on this one. Gapped the plugs to .031 and this happens the spark of the wires are really really low. The plugs are new and I thiknk I have a bad coil pack. hahaha here are some vids crank the volume to da max.
This video I give it some gas goes to 1900 rpms then dies is anything else wrong besides everything haha.
This video I was giving it no gas. I can smell the unburned gas. So I know there is gas. You can tell how the whole car was shaking the camera moves.

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
Sounds to me like you have the wires in the incorrect order. Make sure they are correct in the 4123 order.

Re: Really bad spark plugs (PICS)
They cant be in the wrong order the wire are exactly the length needed to reach the spark plug. They barely give any spark so im guessing its a bad coil pack. Oh yeah clockworktoy I went to RRE and saw a smoke evo nice and 4th gen eclipse really nice. Well anyways I smelled unburned fuel. The spark is weak I thought it was the wires nope brand new.
