ok, where to start. First of all don't confuse the 420a motor with 4g63. Two totally different motors. Now first before you start throwing parts at it consider the following. What your goals are; daily driven no major mods, a daily driven moderate modifications (what I have), then last but not least full drag/ road racing beast. Now you choose
Daily driven Light mods; cat back exhaust, headers, Intake system. No need to be too a mechanic to install these, also no homework needs to be done.
Moderate Modifications; 3" cat back exhaust, turbo or nitrous, some fabrication, fuel modifications, ecu upgrade will be needed. You must be extremely mechanically inclined, also fabrication skill will be needed, and lots of money. Also major homework/research will be needed.
Full racing car; well you will need everything. BIG TURBO, EMS, major fabrication, MAJOR MONEYS.
Now to your 272 deal, first of 272 are for the 4g63. You will need to be extremely careful when ordering cams for a 420a. Now you don’t need cams for your stock motor!!!!! Also most all the cams for the 420a, YOU MUST REPLACE THE VALVE SPRINGS. I think there is only one that there is no need replace them.
The amount of modifications is all up to you. You will need to figure out what you can and can’t do. All I can say is good luck, and if you have questions I’ll be welcome to answer them.
