2g auto gsx
I just got a 2g auto gsx. When I first drove it, it would go in reverse but the rpm would go a bit high before moving even slowly (3000 rpm).
After driving an hour to my house, I tried going in reverse again but this time no matter how much I gassed it it never moved.
Why would my reverse just go out like that? What needs to be done to get me up and running again?
Thanks in advance.
Note: The car is almost 100% stock with 190k on the odo. It has an intake and exhaust.

Re: 2g auto gsx
I just replied to your PM. Check the things I listed in that PM first, fluid level etc etc. Don't forget to check the fluid after the trans is warm and idling in neutral, not park.
I'd buy a new filter and pull out the valvebody and check the o-ring that sits up above it. If that o-ring is damaged or not sealing properly you'll lose reverse for sure.
The o-ring I'm talking about is mentioned in this IPT video. It's worth having a look, as it's not very difficult to pull the pan and valvebody to get to it.

Re: 2g auto gsx
Where can that be purchased? Can it be purchased on its own? I can't tell from the vid if it is just a normal oring or a special piece.

Do you think it would come in this kit?

I'm sure it would come in that kit. From what I remember when I put in my shift kit, it's just an ordinary o-ring. You should be able to pick one up from a parts store that's the same diameter and just replace it.

Re: 2g auto gsx
Thanks, it should be getting rebuilt this Friday so hopefully it gets taken care. Did you go with the IPT shift kit?

Re: 2g auto gsx
If it's getting rebuilt, then yes, it definitely should take care of the problem.
IPT sells the shift kit made by "Trans Lab" I got mine off of the dsmtuners classifieds for like $40 a couple years ago. It's the same one IPT sells though.

Re: 2g auto gsx
I'll look into that thanks. Would you recommend just getting the rebuilt valve body from IPT directly?
