hey everyone, so I just got a 97 eclipse gst and when i was driving it home, I started to get on the freeway and it was just revving higher and higher and wouldn't go down, so I let go of the gas a little and then i pressed on it and it started to de \accelerate, so I went to the side of the rode and turned it off, when I tried to turn it back on, it was turning and turning but it wouldnt turn on, so I had an officer push me out of the freeway into a parking lot and had to get this car towed back from Riverside to Downey. I have no idea what happened and this is my first turbo car, I don't know what to do and I really need help on this. if anyone can please help me figure out what's wrong with the car it will mean a lot to me :cry: I should add that it's an automatic with 88k miles. :depressed: thank you!

When you hit the throttle it revs up but does it go or it just revs like if it was on neutral?

When it revved up, it just accelerated slowly, and when I let go and pressed again it just decelerated and so I had to pull aside to turn it off. After I did, I tried turning it back on but it just turned without turning on. Now it won't turn on at all.

on the battery terminal it is, like when I put in the key everything is normal, but as soon as turn the ignition it sparks on the battery and the car dies.

It's sparking on the battery? Do you have a strut bar that could be touching the positive?

No it doesn't, I just took the battery to get it recharged and tightened all the bolts on it so now there isn't a spark, it now "somewhat" turns but the car still won't turn on.

Check the ecu behind the radio.. And the fuses inside the hood by the air filter.

I was just able to turn on my car today and when I did it was making loud scratching and winding noise that sounded like it came from my turbo, and A LOT of smoke came out of my exhaust. Before I turned it on, I checked it see if it had shaft play and it was pretty bad, so idk if that could be the problem? Sorry I'm new to these 4g63 engines so I'm pretty clueless.

it was in the night but it looked like it was white-ish grey. had blue i think too

White too so it seems to be coolant aswell yo
