Post '95 GSX No boost stays in vacuum
okay so my car has been down for about 2 months now, It's a '95 eclipse GSX and I've been having no boost problems.

My car has been behaving weirdly as in it's been creating many many many exhaust leaks. At first there was a bolt that went missing on my T25,then after I but on a bolt for it the exhaust leak stopped, Then I did a reseal (new valve cover gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, new timing belt, new rear main seal)on my engine and I came home from work one night popped my hood and turns out my exhaust manifold was glowing bright ass orange, but then a new exhaust leak started so I thought my manifold was cracked sure enough it was and I had it weld fixed and it ran fine for a week or so then I turn on my car one morning and sure enough a new exhaust leak and my timing cover melted, I took the heat shield off to see if it was the manifold that cracked again but behold! About three bolts that hold the turbo to the manifold shot out of the threads and were just chilling there. So I was like this is such bull, I looked online and decided to buy a ebay 16G for a quick fix because this is my only car. So I bought the DNA Motorsports tubular manifold & 16G internal wastegate set up as well as some radiator hoses from them total was like $400. We slap the thing on in about 2 weeks because I kept running out of time and having to go to work.

Ever since we installed this turbo and manifold it hasn't been boosting at all. I assumed it was the cat so I paid $20 to have it cut off and weld a pipe there but it still didn't boost. I looked at a vacuum map for the car and redid all the vacuum lines and still nothing. We spent about a month trying to diagnose it until I became completely fed up and decided to take it to Road Race Engineering. Lao i think his name was, worked on my car for about 3 hours. He said it's probably the actuator so he made adjustments, made a new bracket for it, even hammered the damn thing then took it for a test drive. He came back and said it boosted for like 10 seconds and then it just cut out again so he suggested I take the turbo off and bring it to him to see if the wastegate flapper was seating properly so I did. I just got a call back form him saying he took it apart put it back together pressure tested it and everything seemed to be working properly, he asked if I have a cat and I said no I cut it off and welded a pipe there.

So now I'm stuck I don't have any idea what it could be any suggestions? :bang: :doh

It's not leaking boost I know for sure because there is no boost leak in the world that will cause it to stay in vacuum the whole time, the turbo does spin freely, and there is 0 shaft play. I hooked up my own boost gauge and it sat at vacuum as well. The only thing I could think of it try a MBC, unbolt the downpipe to see if the exhuast system is clogged completely, and check the timing since it could be off.

In all honesty, you went with a ebay turbo. I'm sure the guys at the shop told you they're complete crap! Try getting your hands on an actual oem actuator. 14b will work fine as well. I know he tested your ebay one already, but it's still worth a shot. Try running straight actuator pressure as well.

Have you done a boost leak test? When I blow a pipping I can't hit boost.

i've broken my turbo shaft in half before...no leaks, no shaft play, didnt build boost at all. Once I got home, i took the hotside off and the wheel fell out. Double check the turbo itself.
