Re: Do i really need a bottom end rebuild Yep, that sure sounds like you killed the motor. Either have your mechanic rebuild that 7 bolt or what I would do is find a cheap 6 bolt to swap in there. Either way, good luck with it and let us know how it goes.

Re: Do i really need a bottom end rebuild You called the shop earlier today and spoke to me. Did you every check timing? That will tell you if it's valves making love or not. If that checks out fine then it's dead bearings. Sounds like that's the case to me.

Re: Do i really need a bottom end rebuild well i'm going to drop the pan sometime this week and cut open the oil filter for shards and check out the oil for anything terribly wrong like shard of metal there too or even shavings

If its good, drain oil and pan for gold.
