Do i really need a bottom end rebuild
Okay i have a feeling my mechanic might be trying to rip me off so, i need a second or many opinions so here's the scoop. I drive an automatic 95 gst, i believe i was running a good 16lbs of boost. so i didnt realize i only had three quarts of oil in my engine or four. I raced an evo on the 110 South. We were hitting about 120 then we let off, i try accelerating, no power given, just keeps rolling, i hear a loud clacking sound. I flew over a couple of bumps on the freeway so i guessed it skipped timing. I pop my hood, turbo is glowing. i wait till the car cools start her back up, i hear a loud clacking that increases in loudness as i accelerate, but when i give her gas she ain't giving me much power at all. Any ideas?

Re: Do i really need a bottom end rebuild
It would still run with a spun bearing but you said there is a lack of power also so that could be bent / broken valves and no compression on a cylinder or cylinders.

Re: Do i really need a bottom end rebuild
Time for a new engine bud
Do a compression test or post a YouTube video

Re: Do i really need a bottom end rebuild
Compression/leak down test = combustion chamber related
Oil pressure check = mechanical/bearing failure
