yea man just today i did a boost leak test i sww tht i had a big leak where the j pipe connects to the turbo so i took car of tht also i fix some vacun lines tht were connected wrong well comparing them to my friend dsm my car started running a lil better now my gauge showed tht i was boosting 10 psi .....bt the problem was tht it started throwing alloooot of like white smoke.. :/ i changed my vacum lines the way i had them n the smoke went away now itwasnt throwing smoke bt i went bak to the same problem now am only boosting 5 psi n i keep geting like bakfire at 3500 rpm n when my turbo kicks in i start throwing smoke idk what else to do..i checked the knock sensor n looks new i already changed the throatle body..my intake sensor is connected good looks like all my wires r workin good i have new spark plugs..i have stock.side mount because i took off my front mount ...any other ideas on wht can b wrong????

You're not done boost leak testing until you can fill it with air, and have it hold that air pressure. Not when you can't hear it leaking out anymore.

i damn yea i didnt even chevk if it was holding pressure i just put air again n i didnt hear no air i also check by putting water n soap in the piping to see ig i got bubbles n no i didnt find nothing else ill i found tht tht j pipe leak it was aloot

ok so i had ppl telling. me it can b the turbo because all my intercooler piping has oil also because am throwing oil from the exhaust... and the smoke comes out as soon as the car starts boosting n thats when the problems starts.. i have a big 16g turbo am just going to throw it n see if that makes a diff..i hope that is the prob because i went almost through everything n the problem doesnt go away....

Your giant boost leak killed your turbo. Change ur turbo and do A DAMN BOOST LEAK TEST before you start the car. Have a friend stare at your boost gauge. If it doesn't hold boost u have a leak even if you can't hear it. It could be that big of a leak that you can't hear it. U know ur not leaking when ur afraid ur tester is gonna blow off.

Or in my case fuck up your hand if it is in the way.

did you put the plastic upper i/c pipe? if so then it might of poped out, i remember a guy at RRE with the exact same problem, thinking his cat was clogged he got a catback system in and didnt made any difference, turns out his plastic i/c pipe was poping out everytime he would boost. LMAO totally not my tale.

Ok I did thr test with my new turbo bt idk y is not holding pressure ...what can I do also i dont even kno how much psi of pressure I have to put to my boost leak tester fuk I dont kno what else to do :/ when I took of my old turbo notice it had shaft play

You should be able to pressurize your system up to at least 20psi and it should very slowly leak down. If it won't hold pressure then you have a leak somewhere. You last turbo probably overspun itself to death trying to build boost through that leak.

Get someone to help you hunt down leaks and use a spray bottle of soapy water, check where your intake manifold bolts to the head, check your fuel injectors, check your throttle body gaskets, check the throttle body shaft, check all pipe couplings, check the blow off valve....

Basically check everything.
