Re: must have gauges?????????
Get an electronic boost sending unit so you can display boost on the ZR-1 as well.
A good quality oil pressure gauge can really save your engine so that is on the must have list.

Re: must have gauges?????????
Some engine management options like DSM Link let you change your engine light or factory boost gauge into a "knock gauge" to let you know when your engine is seeing knock. I find this to be very useful, but maybe not "must have". An EGT gauge is a good indicator of when the engine is pulling timing because of knock, but it's slow so it let's you know after the fact. Again, not necessarily "must have" especially since you have a wideband, but it is helpful (you can add one to the Zt-2). Oil pressure and water temp tend to be the big ones after wideband and boost gauge.

Re: must have gauges?????????
whats up Saul! so is your car almost ready??? anyway like they said above, wideband, boost, oil pressure and water temp are really the only recomended things you need, if you have a turbo timer alot of times they show you voltage which is also good to know and keep an eye on to make sure your battery and alternator are up to par.
were you able to get that cam drilled and tapped?

Battery Temp. It's a must-have.

Re: must have gauges?????????
My bad, the ZR-1 does only show AFR. In that case if you don't already have a good boost gauge you need one, and oil pressure and water temp are also good.

-Wideband -Boost -Oil Pressure -Water Temp -Battery Voltage
These are the most important gauges to me.

Re: must have gauges?????????
Is your ZT-2 new or used? If it's new it would be a waste to go with any other brands for the rest of the gauges. You can buy sensors and add them to the Zt-2 and either buy a single ZR-2 gauge to cycle through them or buy multiple ones to display all the info at once. You can also buy the LCD display that will show 4 sensors at once. Then get the ZAVT-1 which is a warning light/buzzer that you can trigger off any of those sensors (high water temp, low oil pressure, lean AFR, overboost, etc). The older Zt-2 has a couple limitations but you can do almost the same thing.
If you took this route you'd only have to wire the sensors rather than run wiring to separate gauges, and you'll have high quality sensors you can actually depend on. If you buy all the sensors and the right displays you can display AFR/boost/EGT/oil pressure/water temp all through the Zt-2 and you can datalog them all too.
