Aftermarket O2 housings
I was looking into replacing the one I have. It's a tubular o2 and it just gives me no clearance at all down there. It did came with my car. Did my oil change and filter and realized it'll be a pain in the ass doing one again since the o2 gives me no room between it and the oil filter.
Question is, is that how they all are to the point where they give you not enough space to take the oil filter off? Or are there some that a lil spacious??

Re: Aftermarket O2 housings
I have the Punishment Racing O2 housing with a Tial MVS wastegate recirculated and I have no problem getting my oil filter on and off.

Re: Aftermarket O2 housings
I have an EVO 3 o2 housing. With no problems.
One thing to remember is that some us are using a 6bolt oil filter housing. (with our 6bolt blocks) and the oil filters are different sizes (smaller in length) vs the 7 bolt oil filters

Re: Aftermarket O2 housings
True but I still use the larger 7-bolt filter on my 90 filter housing. And usually a K&N filter which even has the extra hex shape on the end.

Re: Aftermarket O2 housings
What about running the evo oil filter its much smaller I know someone said it gave them enough clearance for a 3 inch 02 dump and a 3 inch DP.

Re: Aftermarket O2 housings
It still shouldn't be much of a hassle, maybe the previous owner put a weird/eBay 02housing. Try an EVO 3 02 housing or punishment racing one....or some thing that's well known to run on DSMs.
Wally, Sam has a custom true 3inch turbo exhaust. All 3inch after yhe turbine housing. I guess you can say he doesn't have an 02 housing. It's Not a 3inch 02 dump. His dump is off the external waste gate, still average size dump tube. Not sure about the filter he's running.

Re: Aftermarket O2 housings
The only problem with those is that there is no provision for an oil cooler. Not a problem for a street/strip car, but if you ever want to auto-x, road race, or really push it in canyons cooling the oil is pretty important.
