Well coming down Chino Avenue the shifter would not go into 1st gear and didnt want to go into any gear without half of my body weight pushing into it. When it finally went into gear a weird noise emerged from the shifter like a grinding noise. After that the clutch pedal started to have a chatter/grinding feeling coming through it. The clutch never sank in or got stuck disengaging. The only things I can think of are transmission is kapoot, throwout bearing, or one of the fingers on the clutch is busted off or the clutch is done for. Please any help is appreciated. The clutch that's installed is a F1 racing stage 2 with a F1 racing aluminum flywheel with steel insert. |

Sorry this is true when my car is shut off and you shift it's perfectly fine. Nothing at all, my first guess was the TOB. I'll check that out immediately. |

No point in crying and guessing. Drop the trans, and find out. |

Dropping the trans isn't that hard and either way your going to have to drop it so gt started on that already. |

If you want to know without dropping the trans, you can take off the slave clinder, take off the rubber boot on the bell housing where the fork sticks out, and peek into there. Will confirm your TOB is dead. You still will have to pull the trans none the less. |

Yep so it turns out gst was right a spring popped out of my F1 pressure plate which really pisses me off. The clutch barely has 1500 miles on it. I pretty much babied it to, and ever since day one of installing it the clutch chatter caused the whole car to shutter I thought it would eventually go away but it never did. All in all though the clutch kit worked great it was a steal for 175 until this incident happened just driving out to the bowling alley. But yes the car should be ready by Monday early afternoon so I shall see what happens from there. Thank you for the help everyone you gave me a lot of insight on what to look for next time things go wrong. |

For traditional style clutches there are only three kinds really that I would put in my car. Center Force, ACT, and the RRE X clutch. The fact that the word stage is used in the description should tell you right away that it was a piece of shit made to sell to ricer kids. |

But for reals...My car is stage eleventeen-thousand and one. Really though, when did the pressure plate jump over the half pyramid onto the flag pole, slide down and walk into the plumbing pipe to get to stage 2? ![]() We go by specs, clamp load, friction material. Will tell you more than a "stage". |

I'll try to remember that on these forums everyone else just asks for stage and what clutch. |
