Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
Car is complete everything is put on double checked all the houses clamps lines sensors bolts made sure everything was were it was suppose to be. Tomorrow add oil and antifreeze go get the key made since its no were to be found then crank it over. Oh yeah what oil do you guys recommend I use I used mobil1 10w40 on my old engine this engine I was told it has 40k to 50k miles.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
10w30 is fine if you have no leaks, but when people have small leaks and such they use 10w40, and a lot of people don't like fram filters because some have been found with metal shavings in them.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
I doubt I will have any leaks since all the seals are new but you never know what might happened when I crank the car over well today is the big day that i will start the car and hopefully everything goes smooth so I can get back on the roads and again to the meets. Sam said what I did was impressive haha I feel special lol but im still telling myself did I just really do all this because of a shirt lol.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
as far as oil goes I use Redline 15w50. And OEM EVO filter. Its like 7 bucks at the dealer. Oil wise, any oil is better than no oil. I used 5/30 10/40 15/50 20/50 with no adverse effects. I usually switch with climate change, summer 15-50 and winter 10-40 or 5/30

Well I cant put a video dont have the camera right now. I crank it it wont start and I hear clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk hhhmmm. Chris you sure this engine is good I hope I didnt waste money for nothing. Well car wont start its not trowing any codes oil is good on the line antifreeze is good. Sparkplug wires are in order and all the sensors are hooked up to there proper location . Im about to do a compression check test the engine is cold so I will post up what number it gives me. I dont know were that noise is comming from since im by myself and cant see the engine and it crank it at the same time. Anyone care to help so far what does it look like. On the fuel thing I didnt dreprresurized the fuel pump at the beggining just unhooked the lines and let everything spill I just put the lines back. So what am I looking at I can here it cranking fine but it wont start and it has that clunking noise.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
Well I got the car started the spark plugs were bad and I replaced them with my old ones bpr7es and the engine started smooth no problems but that clunking noise is still there and when I rev it gets louder but then shuts up when I rev it more I know its comming from the bottom end . Come on chris I was promised a good engine. The engine idles at 750 flat it doesnt move at all nice idle but that knocking noise or clunking thing is getting me worried.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
Dam dude that sucks, visually inspect everything and make sure your waterpump pulley or crank pulley is lose since that can cause a clank sound. If you can't figure it out remove the oil pan and inspect the rods for play.
