Alright so if I do a cold engine compression check what should the reading be across the board. if I do a hot engine compression check what should the reading be so I can rule out the headgasket.

He has a 7bolt erix aka higher compression than a 6bolt.
2G (95-99) T/E 2.0L 4G63 Turbo engine Compression ratio 8.5:1 Standard compression 178 psi Service limit 133 psi

Hahaha clint I'm guessing rtfm means read the sucking manual I would but I don't have internet at home for now I'm using my blackbeRry. I can't download it here so yeah.

Grab yourself a Haynes/Chiltons at Autozone when you get a chance. They're a good start and they'll have a lot of the specs you need. You can order the factory service manual on ebay too.

Yeah I have ther chiltons manual jose let me borrow it im going to look that up right now. Oh yeah on the good side I ran again with no thermostat and didn't overheat temp stayed pretty solid  .
