Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
I too have bought a lot of stuff from Chris with no problems. I have had him work on my car with the things I have purchased with no problems as well. I think it is unfortunate but I don't think Chris would pull anything shady like that. Why pull something shady like that when you can possibly get flamed here. Chris is pretty knowledgable so I think you guys can get your ride back up and running quickly. Hope all goes well.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
I know what everyone is saying but I mean I can see damage on the walls that have been there for a good while things as little weird spot on the walls. The walls look scratched like if the piston was scraping against and the crank has play as well. I put my new crank seal and it still leaked oil. Either way couple of people are telling me that this block I bought is a POS I will post pics of the walls so you guys can see what im talking about there is no way the damage on there could have happened with the engine cranking for less then 2 minutes. Well I did pull the whole motor out again as a whole head and everything turbo all that. I know chris did not mean to screw me over but I guess it did happen and he didn't mean to. Don't worry about me guys I will be back on the road I will guarantee that nothing is going to stop me uuyyy muy chingon haha. Well I wont say it was a total loss since the head is super perfect I will just say I bought a 500 dollar head with POS block and internals.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
I too have done business with Chris. I've had no problems with him what so ever. He's kept my car at his house to do work for a few days. I get the car back running better than ever. I've seen plenty of cars brought to him and the before and after is amazing on them. I trust him on future builds and fixes.

I now see your point, Chris. Thanks for posting and clearing things up. Wally, get some pics up asap (I know you said you would). How many miles did you say is on this engine?

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
Well kevin he said 40k to 50k and he got it from a friend as payment. When I took out the balance shaft belt it was torn up from the floor up my old 7 bolt with 100k plus miles was in better shape then this one.

What did you do with the engine after you bought it from Chris but before you put it in your car?

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
Well I get what your saying chris but when I put the head on the block I didn't bother to look in to the walls because remember I THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS GOOD. Until now that the engine was clanking I took engine back out removed the head and saw that in day light. I will take pics and maybe you can tell how long the damage has been there. Chris like you said you got the engine in a trade maybe you didnt know the engine was fucking up. Look at my old 7 bolt shit ran strong and the walls you saw them right on the first couple of pages on this thread they fucked up and I didnt even know it. The noise on my old 7 bolt sounded exactly like this but not as loud. The engine was cranked for a good while then didn't like how it sounded so turned it off and today removed the engine and the oil was DISGUSTING. The oil was brand new. I don't know what else was wrong but what ever.

Re: Wally just failed why yes he did read this
Either way dude, no damage, little damage, if it was free, it has 500 or 50k miles, the first thing you should of done was taken the motor to a machine shop to inspect it at the minimun. and gotten a "stock" rebuild. You can't just assume it's good cause it only had x amount of miles and because it "looked" ok A pro can give you pointers and recomendations. I would never throw in a used block with out have it inspected/rebuilt.
So now, whether your gonna re-use that block or get another block, make sure you take it to a machine shop have him inspect it and see what he recomends to do to it.
I mean i would at least but new bearings, and change the oil pump. Have him measure everything and make sure it's up to spec....things like that. I really suggest you do that this time around
