Anyone who has a 1g: REMEMBER to look into the faulty clutch pedal lever! If you're having problems shifting the first thing to check for is proper clutch disengagement like Sam said. *if* you have proper disengagement, *then* it might be bad synchros. With older cars like 1gs, the major causes of bad disengagement are worn/leaking master/slave cylinder, air in clutch hydraulics, worn fork/ball assembly, and worn clutch pedal. The ONLY one of those that requires dropping the trans is the worn fork/ball. BEFORE you freak out and pay for an expensive rebuild, read all of the information at these following websites: http://www.teamrip.com/clutch%20adjustment.html http://www.teamrip.com/clutch_pedal_adj ... _info.html http://www.roadraceengineering.com/clut ... eltech.htm For clutch pedal adjustment, this is by FAR the best instructional EVER!!! Go to this page and watch the "proper clutch adjustment" video: In addition to all that, there are about 1,000,000,000,000 threads at dsmtuners.com about clutch disengagement. Do a search there. Good luck! |
