Anyone who has a 1g: REMEMBER to look into the faulty clutch pedal lever! If you're having problems shifting the first thing to check for is proper clutch disengagement like Sam said. *if* you have proper disengagement, *then* it might be bad synchros. With older cars like 1gs, the major causes of bad disengagement are worn/leaking master/slave cylinder, air in clutch hydraulics, worn fork/ball assembly, and worn clutch pedal. The ONLY one of those that requires dropping the trans is the worn fork/ball.
