Melted Fan
Alright guys Im about to get my car back from RRE. Its almosted tuned up and ready. But the called me to day and said that my wastgate is too close to my radiator fan and it will melt the rubber that hold it to gether. Is that true??? There trying to sell me a 95$ aftermarket fan that is slimer but i have to money?? What should I do.

they are probably talking about the AC fan if they sare saying your wastegate will melt it. You dont need that fan, it only turns on wiht your AC. I only run my AC fan on the tranny side as my cooling fan due to my SBR j-pipe and my temps are fine. You dont need that fan.

Well I asked them what fan it was and they said it is the cooling fan??? Would that even melt??? I thought it would withstand that kind off heat

Yes fans can melt if they are too close to the manifold, turbo or external wastegate. You can try to run one fan or get slim fans or pusher fans that go on the other side of the radiator.

The manifold can see temps 1500+ degrees. Is your wastegate an external dump or dose it route back into the exhaust? If your waste gate is dumping 1500+ degree exhaust gas & flames towards your fans they can melt pretty quick. Unless your going to dirve around slow & not boost you should probably change the fans soon or remove the one by the wg and try just using the one on the other side.
