My car makes a grinding noise during launches and also sometimes when going in reverse at a normal speed (like backing up into a parking space). Could that be the cv axles? I already ordered a new front set so they should be here any day now, but I wanted to know if that should fix the problem. |

The car also makes a slight rattling sound during idle with my foot off the clutch.. When I push the clutch all the way in the rattling stops.. Any ideas what it could be? |

It is starting to grind when I drive in 1st gear or reverse.. (never when I switch into 1st but sometimes when I go into reverse..) The trans is a stage 2 shep with welded diff and an exedy stage 2 thick disc with fidanza flywheel.. Could it not be adjusted properly? Idk what the problem could be.. |

Yeah I read them all already. Some say TOB, others say the trans is not bolted tight enough but the ones ive read only mention the noise during idle. None mention a loud grinding noise when launching as well. |

I thought TOB too, my old 240sx used to do that at the strip |

Would it be bad for the car to keep driving it with the current clutch/trans setup? |

I didn't know if it would be bad or not and obviously I asked so that I wouldn't be stranded on the side of the road. I guess I should have assumed.. Thanks for your help awdmonster.. Anyway, the tob is brand new oem.. That would leave the clutch setup correct? |
