 spun bearing or exhaust leak? hey wassup guys I'm having trouble finding out what this noise is, it's like a combination of knocking and like an exhaust leak noise, it isn't there when the car is at idle only hen I start driving it it appears but only when I give it gas but as soon as I let go the noise disappears here's a vid to let u guys know what I'm talking about. on and btw its a 90 tsi awd

Re: spun bearing or exhaust leak? Can't tell. All I hear is wind noise. Usually if u have a really small exhaust leak it goes away as the car heats up due to the metal expanding. Does it make noise as soon as you turn it on and then it goes away or is it strictly rpm based?

Re: spun bearing or exhaust leak? Under load it makes noise, off loud it doesnt. Does it make noise free reving it?

Re: spun bearing or exhaust leak? Have you check your oil? if its a spun bearing you will see very small pieces of gray metal mixed with the oil.

Re: spun bearing or exhaust leak? it gets louder as soon I'm as building up boost but when I slightly remove my foot but keep
it at the same rpm it goes away, it's weird I just happened over night but yeah I'll check it, and ima replace my manifold and ima see if that helps

Re: spun bearing or exhaust leak? Foo.....I already told you its your manifold. When I was there even you herd it. I can hear/feel the exhaust escaping through the center of that Ex manifold.

Re: spun bearing or exhaust leak? turns out it was just an exhaust leak, went with Wally to go pick up a new-used manifold, replaced it and the noise is gone
