I replaced my alternator (again) and in the process i ripped the signal wire from the oil pressure sender. I reinstalled the wire on the oil pressure sender.....but now when i start the car or when i take off from a stop, the gauge maxes out on the high side, way past the "high" mark. then after a lil bit it'll drop down to the 2nd "mark" from the left. it started doing that ever since i reattached the wire. Before the wire was ripped off, the gauge would usually go as high as the middle of the gauge and for the most part hover aroud the first 1/4 of the gauge range. Is this possibly a faulty gauge? or pressure sender? or an actual serious problem? |

it sounds like a faulty sending unit i had the same issue i replaced the unit and tada |
