After checking out my logs from the last Street Legals, I noticed the turbo was way laggier then usual. I mean, I normally get full boost @ 5K, but 7K WITH a 75 shot is ridiculous . I suspected something was screwy so on with the investigation. After checking the usual; exhaust leaks, base timing, mechanical timing, BLT w/ pickles on the side....nothing. Disassembled the wastegate & did find a pinhole in the diaphragm, but nothing that would cause extra lag. Finally, I decided to drop the turbo for shits & giggles........& what do you know. Now to decide which route to take next:-Rebuild the FP3575 -HX40 in the FP housing.....I like -PTE Billet in a bolt-on or FP housing....iffy in the reliability department, but price is right. ![]() ![]()

I say rebuild or go with the HX40. That turbo put up with a lot of crap in its like. How much anti-lagging went on with it? |

I would suggest that since you are upgrading the turbo to go ahead and move to a t3 hot side, as with the nitrous you are moving alot more exhaust gasses. A t3 housing will allow for a less choke point when stalling up on the nitrous. In which if you do the bullseye .70 ar housings, it can be had for $200.00 from extremepsi.com. |

The GT37, aka 37r wheel is 72.5mm & the FP housing came in @ 73mm...so we're in business!! The FP housing is 0.70 A/R & these HX40's have had good results with the bullseye housing, so they should go well together....now just gotta find a 40. |

Dam that wheel has seen better days. Anyway, been telling you HX40 would be your best bet. In a .70ar hotside you should be able to max out that turbo, guys have done some great numbers with a bolton .55 housing so i can't wait to see what the .70 will do with a 50 shot. The 6 and 7 blade hx40 are 69lb/min turbos my friend! Even the more common 8 blade hx40 still flows 60lb/min! Were you looking at getting a brand new holeslut? or trying to find a used one first? |

Well, used ones + a rebuild puts me around $350-$500ish just gestimating. I have seen "new" ones go for $800+ on flea bay....but who knows if they're real & sometimes those pics aren't clear enough to tell. At this point I'll take anything. The 6-blade would be a nice find, though. |

yeah the guy out here in the IE said he would sell a HX40 with no exhaust housing for $450 and im sure he could machine your housing to fit. but like others said, you should step up to a T3 housing especially with an HX40 |

I'll give your boy a call within the month Adam An FYI, I found a quote from Robert @ FP stating their FP30 housing flows like a .63 a/r T3. Eventually, I'll jump on t3 wagon. |
