Well taking the literal meaning of import 1. To bring or carry in from an outside source, especially to bring in (goods or materials) from a foreign country for trade or sale and considering they were built by a company incorporated in America where they were made and assembled in an American state by American UAW workers.

The line is continuing to be blurred between which is literally considered to be a domestic and which is import. I personally look more towards not where it is being built but where the money is ending up. In DSM's case, Mitsubishi created an American corporation with Chrysler. Over looking the fact that some of the money did go back home overseas to Japan, a large portion of it stayed here in the hands of Chrysler, Plymouth, the UAW and all the other little things that were created by Diamond Star Motors. In Evo's case, they're not sharing anything with American auto companies and all the money is going back over seas as with companies such as Toyota and Honda.
