Its weeds out the the wannabe race car drivers kids who just saw Fast and the Furious. Its not all glam, speed, girls, truck jacking, neon lights, NOS, vin diesle, spoilers, and bright colors. Three things dont come hand in hand, Fast, Cheap, Reliable. DSMs have the Fast and Cheap part. But what can you expect from cars that are almost 2 decades old, over 150K miles, and we are still pushing past the limits of what they were designed for. People get discouraged when it breaks down and sell it, then there are those who go through engines, turbos and tranny's but still keep the car. To get a 2 decade old car faster than newer cars today, while keeping DD is a tough task. Only thing I havent replaced under my hood is the Starter, Exhaust Manifold, and Tranny. Almost a new car!
