i just came across a guy on tuners selling a 300mile old crankshaft for 150...should i bother replacing the crankshaft?

It wouldn't hurt to have as an extra. If you can, check yours to make sure its still in spec.

I wouldn't bother with another crank. As I told someone else, one crank wont go into another block without some machine work on both the crank and block. At that point you might as well pull the entire motor, tear it down and do a full rebuild. At that point you might as well go 6bolt. So take YOUR crank and micropolish it, and do what I posted above. Unless you ready to do a 6bolt swap.

ok so i have been reading up on the bsek and it seem that the stubby shaft should have the oil groove yet most kits use the one without it. should i really bother looking for a kit with the groove or would the common kit work just fine?

Go to road race and pick the kit up from there, but i still don't see why your getting rid of the balance shafts

Do not have the funds for a 6bolt....I kind of need the car running asap so replacing bearings and removing balanceshaft is going to have do for now

used running 6bolts go for about 200 bucks at the junk yard if you know how look for a good motor.
