 Throttle Body Shaft Seals
Well this post is to encourage anyone who has leaking TB shaft seals.
I was always under the impression that taking on this task was going to be way more dificult and time consuming, and figured it was best left alone. But on my talon, they were leaking so badly that it was affecting the cars driveability.
So today I took on the challenge of replacing these seals. Now there's two ways to do it. You can order new seals from mach V or other vendors, or you can cheap out and get some o-rings and reuse the seal casings. Gues which way I picked..... Yup the o-ring way.
I figured, anything I do can't be worse then the way they were, so I took apart the TB removed the seals, scraped out all the old seal from the casing, and took a cruise to autozone, went and talked to my buddy and he hooked me up with like 20 o-rings that fit perfectly in the casing.
I'm not going to get into the process of replacing the seals because there are write ups elsewhere, but if requested, I will.
Replaced the seals, put the TB back together and sure enough, I can now boost leak test up to 20psi and have it slowly bleed off at about 1 psi every 1-2 seconds then holds strong at 10psi for a while.
It was not hard to do, the hardest part was getting the removing the TB from the intake mani, if you can accomplish that, then this is cake. Just make sure you mark everything, and I mean everything, so assembly is easy.
That's all, thanks for reading. Hope I inspire you.

 Re: Throttle Body Shaft Seals
Well there's a trick to everything, and definitely one for removing those screws.
If you have a cordless drill that locks when you turn it by hand (such as my snap-on one) you can apply downwards force and turn slowly, if you have the correct size phillips bit in there it should be farely easy.
If you don't have a drill the you could get your screwdriver, attatch vice grips to the shaft, put a rag on the handle (so you can applymore pressure with out hurting your hand or whatever you're gonna use to apply pressure) apply as much downward force as you can while turning the driver with the vice grips. It should prevent stripping them.
