so i was warming up my car to go test out the new mbc setup.I went in the house to grab my laptop, came back out and noticed a funny smell from my car. so i hopped in and noticed my voltage was a little lower than normal. turned on parking lights and voltage dropped around 12.6v or so i also noticed with the extra light from my markers smoke emitting from the gap around my hood! wtf? quickly killed the car and checked for melted wires couldnt find any. so i start it back up and look to see where smoke was coming from and it appears to be coming from the alternator (new one for me) plus the alternator was wayy hot, hotter than my manifold-spilled a lil beer on it and it cooked!. im lost i just changed that alternator, it has less than 1500 mi on it. i did buy it from autozone
anyone have this problem before? any suggestions?
