First off....buya new OEM belt and get the timing right. I did my own timing belt and it took about a full day...minus the BSing around. Depending on your current miles on the car...consider replacing the water pump. But once you get the belt back on....do a compression test. You can get one at Autozone for $20-30. When you get your compression test results back...you will know if you have bent valves or not. DsmTuners has alot of info....plus....buy yourself a Haynes manual....that thing helped out sooo much. Pepboys for only $12.

is the car a 420a or 4g63t? In the 4g63t the cams will rotate to a neutral position if no belt is on it. (all valves closed or pretty damn close to closed) Are you saying the T-belt actually broke? I'm not getting at what hes saying. And no you can do a compression test if your belt broke becuase your valves wont open and close.
