is this true?
If you buy a car off a dealer does it have to be covered by full coverage?
thats what they told me and thats what I have. I really dont want to pay full coverage anymore.
One of my friends bought a new 07 civic and was driving it around several months with out insurance from a big dealership. They dint do anything to him.
Would they notice if i just get reliability? What would happen?

Theoretically yes if you bought it on a loan or financed it in any way. Because you don't hold the pink slip, the lender does, they require you to have full coverage. Though it's not illegal to have limited, I think it does break the loan agreement.
When my girlfriend brought her Corolla, there was no insurance on it for almost two years, then we put liability only and nothing happen. It depends on the lender cause my friend is required to show proof of insurance to his bank for his car.
On a side note, if you buy it through a personal loan or anything other than a vehicle loan, they don't require proof.

It depends on the car and the dealership you buy it from. When I bought my gst in May, the dealership wouldn't let me drive the car off the lot until I got full coverage. You can always get it and change your plan after you drive it off the lot.

yeah because i bought my gs off a mom and pop dealership real small. I have a lil bit over a year left to pay it all off. Had a 3 year plan.
When i go and pay my car they never ask for proof so i was just wandering if i changed it would they get notified??
i need to go today and pay should i ask about or would that be stupid?
Like would they suspect it and make like a personal note on my record...
dunno? maybe im thinking too much about this lol
