Post Stripped intake manifold bolt
So yesterday i was bolting on my manifold and everything was going smooth till i got the very last bolt which was the bolt on the bottom corner closest to the EGR.
Everything torqued down fine except this one never stopped spinning.

(I'm sure you guys know which bolt i'm talking about but i just posted the pic for the fuck of it)

Anyways, the bolt is semi-tight on there. Guesstimating that it's torqued down around 7lbs. My concern obviously is that i do not want a boost leak. The mani was installed with an oem gasket and a thin layer of "The Right Stuff"

Do you guys think that it would cause a leak in the future if left the way it is or should i man up and helicoil it?
I REALLLLLY don't wanna try to helicoil it since i've never done it before and i don't wanna fuck up the head...

You said it just kept on spinning which means it's stripped. Even if it feels like it's on there "tight", it's probably hand on for dear life. I would just heli-coil the thing and call it good. It's fairly easy. Get a heli-coil that fits, cut new threads to fit the od of the coil, clean out threads, loctite coil, insert bolt, profit.

or rock it like that and see if it leaks...if it does, then apply above.

Thanks for the reply guys.
Finally grew some balls, took the bolt off to inspect the threads, and turned out that only the first half of the threads were fucked up. I was able to throw on a longer bolt and it fixed my problem :fail:
Glad it was such a simple solution, Thanks Justin. :drinkers:
