6 bolt swap question

Post 6 bolt swap question
hey guys, I'm in the middle of my 6 bolt swap into my 96 GST, and I'm using a six bolt block with a 2G head, and I was just askin on here to make sure, when the motor gets together, essentially it should run exactly the same, correct? as in I won't have to switch CAS's or plug wires or any of that nonsense?

only if you swap your crank angle sensor onto the 6 bolt, and I don't remember if it bolts up the same. but the cam angle sensor thats on you 2g head you can continue to use.... also dont forget to have the holes in the 2g head drilled 1mm larger to fit the 6bolt head studs, 7bolt head bolts are 11mm where the 6 bolt head bolts are 12mm

as long as you use the same crank angle sensor and make sure the trigger plates are the same

There isnt space on the 6bolt oil pump to bolt on a crank sensor. You either have to rigg it some how, or wire in a 1G CAS and swap plug wires. I think the latter is easier.

i'm not using a 6 bolt oil pump though, i'm having the 7bolt front case modified to fit the 6 bolt, so i'll be using a 7 bolt oil pump

it just seems like the easiest way cause all i have to have done to the 7 bolt is a bit of machine work and it works the same and i'll have a 6 bolt.

^^^ OR you can use a plug and play harness and a 1g sensor and be done. On a scale of difficulty i think maching>plug and play.
