Idle issues.
So my car is running amazing whenever I have my foot in it but it has decided to stop being able to idle. I'm not sure what a working isc is supposed to act like when you turn the key so I took a video of mine. Does it look like this is moving correctly.

Re: Idle issues.
I'm at a loss, the resistance of all the coils on the ISC are in spec and I just inspected the ecu for damaged components I didn't visually see any. I did a boost leak test and I didn't have any leaks I could find, it seemed that the boost was bleeding down either past the valve stem seals or the piston rings into the crank case.
It seems that the idle gets worse everyday, every time the car stops now I'm tap dancing on the gas to keep it running.

Re: Idle issues.
It's pretty new, I put in a fuel lab filter when I re-did my fuel lines for the 2.3. It has maybe 10k on it but almost all e-85 so maybe a new filter element wouldn't hurt.

Re: Idle issues.
Well, I inspected the filter element today and it looks fine. It is the paper element so I am going to replace it with the stainless steel one since the paper won't last to long with ethanol. The car is still having issues and I'm stumped.
I do have bad valve stem seals as the car smokes whitish blue and smells of burnt oil on a cold start-up. I should have new seals to put in by next weekend and I will see if that helps. Maybe oil in the combustion chamber is messing with the idle.

Re: Idle issues.
So I stumbled upon the fix for this. Since my turbo is in need of a rebuild and I'm not boosting all the time any way I decided to get better mileage and gas up with 93 yesterday. And wouldn't you know it the car idles and deals with part throttle great.
The problem persisted over several tanks of e85 but all from the same gas station as there is only one around here. I don't know if the gas was bad from that station or if my fuel system was getting gunked up and the regular gas helped to clean it up. I guess I will find out once I fix the turbo and go back to running some good old corn.

Re: Idle issues.
Yes it was but that hasn't stopped it from having shaft play and burning oil. I just recently added a nice check valve in line with my pcv valve and prior to that I was getting oil coming out of the oil cap into the valve cover and now I don't. I think the pcv was sucking and letting intake pressure into the crank case during pulls and that pressure was stopping the oil from draining out of the turbo, we will see how long she holds after repairing.

Damn dude....that thing just doesn't want to stay alive. That many builds you could of got a new CHRA, Well, this time when you or they assemble it, put a bit of silicone where the compressor housing meets the cartridge back plate.

Re: Idle issues.
To be fair to the turbo, one of the rebuilds was because it was bolted to an engine that ate a piston.
