 headgasket? so either im the most unluckly or worst mechanic i know. im hoping im just that unlucky but im starting to wonder.
so i went through 3 headgaskets then i figured out the machine shop F'ed up and left a uneven surface on the head. then i put it all back together after they fixed and it ran great and i blew the headgasket at fontana on july 11th it was just pushing coolant and burning oil but still ran fine. so 2 weeks ago i did the HG again and reused a mitsu metal HG and copper sprayed it.
it was great at 1st no problems then i started losing coolant so i did a comp test today and my numbers were 120, 100, 60, 120.
not burning any oil this time just pushing coolant.
so my options are get a mitsu composite and just do the HG again or pull the whole motor and get the block oringed.
im open to ideas or suggestions so go ahead with them

Re: headgasket? How is it that my motor is still holding together fine and you keep blowing headgaskets lol. My HG is fine and the head came somewhat lose and just torqued it down again and still going strong. I would just go with the composite HG it seasl a lot better. I know that using metal headgaskets the block and head need to come to a mirror finish to seal lol.

Re: headgasket? no block was not decked i wish i would have had it decked but theres nothing i can do about that now... if i do end up pulling the engine i will just have it O ringed with SS rings and run a composite HG
i think im going to get a oem composite and give it one more shot if it fails again ill be pulling the engine or building a new one or something, fml

Re: headgasket? the only downfall to o-ringing the head is that when it has to be resurfaced alot of material must be removed most of the time needing a new head

Re: headgasket? I've seen o-ringed heads fail more than properly done standard MLS with ARP's.
