At some point I'm planning on making a full writeup on replacing the knock sensor wire from the sensor to the ECU since a lot of people ask about it and few people have proper answers. In the mean time, here's a quick diagram I whipped up. You need to connect the mesh shielding from the knock sensor signal wire to the ground wire (inside the car only. Leave the shielding alone in the engine bay), then ground to chassis. Remember, this is for RE-wiring the sensor, it is not a representation of the factory wiring simply b/c with factory wiring the knock sensor shares a common ground withe the O2 sensor's shielding and ground wire. I don't have the factory O2 sensor so this wasn't an issue for me. Oh, and this is for a 1g. Not sure if it's different on 2g cars.
