Ok so I've been thinking about the site lately. Up until the move last week, I was thinking a lot of our unreliability was due to the software we were using but it turned out to be Yahoo exclusively.

I've been looking into VBulletin and would like to know what you guys think about a transition. Is everyone comfortable with the way the site is now with PHPBB or would you guys like to go in the direction of VB which is what dsmtuners uses. Some of the differences is phpbb is free while vb charges $180 for their software. Phpbb offers free upgrades while vb charges reduced prices for upgrading. Vb offers a lot of options and features out of the box but phpbb is also capable of mimicking a lot of them too granted if you know how to code it or find a mod.

Also, what else might some of you guys like to see added along side with chat. I've been looking into a classified system, maybe a working shoutbox or chat, galleries...lets throw out some ideas and see how we want the site to work for us.

Also, how do you guys feel about advertisements vs. donations? The hosting fee is next to nothing but if we start looking to purchasing stuff, which would you guys prefer. I wouldn't quit my job off ad money and if we went that route, I'd only run them as long as needed to make the cost of the app and then pull the plug until needed again, but everyone hates looking at ads.
