I've been running this turbo for about 2 1/2 years now with no problems. No excessive shaft play, and the blades look almost brand new. The Evo III GT is the same dimension and spec as the MHI made EVO 16G (big 16g), but it's already ported and comes with a 35mm big flapper to reduce boost creep. Don't be fooled by people that say the GT is in the same category as all the China-bay turbos. This turbo was good enough for RRE to sell during it's run, and a LOT of people have had great success with it. Here is an article with details/specs and testing: http://www.bblgroup.us/automotive/product/evo3gt/ I also had RRE port the compressor outlet on this turbo for more flow. I'll throw in the punishment J pipe for a FMIC if you want it. I had a bung with a barb welded to it for a boost source for your MBC. I also had it powder coated, but there's a chip and some light scratches. Pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

how much boost has this turbo seen regularly..? have you had any creep issues with the 34mm wastegate? are you running a 3" turbo back and stock cams? |

First year and a half I ran it at 15-18psi. Recently it's been at 20+psi (max I've run it is 24psi). The worst creep I experienced was when I first installed it on my 2.3L stroker. With no MBC or BCS it would creep up to about 16psi (stock cams, 2.5" O2 housing, 2.5"-3" down pipe, 3" performance cat, 3" mandrel bent cat back). I doubt you'll have creep issues with this turbo. If anything, you'll have less issues than a 16g with a smaller flapper. |

I've been told that a REAL MHI Evo turbo of any kind, would not have the word "evo" written on it. |

You should have read his post before you said something that turbo is identical to the mhi evo 3 it was so trusted that a trusted performance shop road race started selling it. Its a legit turbo that's worth the 300 buxs for the work it has done to it. |
