Post Re: 2g Poly roll stops!!!!
Well Adam Had my mounts (front and Back) on from the 3rd day i picked them up to yesterday. I pulled off my tranny As for the back mount as hard as it was to get on just as hard to get off but not a big deal actually like the fact that its nice and tight.

But as for the front i got to make a complaint. Dont know what that material was made out of but didnt seem strong enough for 450 AWHP. Did you get cheap on us or wut....LOL.... You should make em with the same material that RRE sells the motor mounts inserts. Cause i've had those on my cars for years and never experienced what i did with that Front one...

Well let me explain lately for the past couple months I've been experiencing
my car wanting to wheel hop worst than ever and just thought its the way i been releasing the clutch and since they closed down the tracks I've been on 91 so horsepower dropped 100, but let me get to the point as I took off that front motor mount one side of the inserts fell off I pick it up and put it back where it belongs then I noticed that sleeve in the middle was loose. looser than a hooker thats been hooking for years. I said WOW this shit has more play the Stock one the hole in the middle opened up to about the size of a 14mm socket literally. I know I dont got warrenty for a defected item so hopefully that material crunched up together and got stiffer we'll have to see.

Basically I went thru my garage looking for some type of Idea and found this piece of pipe that was the same length as the sleeve, bigger than hole on the mount, and smaller than the sleeve so i pulled out my lil wanna be dremmal router and ported a lil on the piece I found on the side I was gonna push the sleeve thru. Then I ported the sleeve a lil on the outside on the side that was going thru that pipe got it to go in not even a 1/8 of an inch put some grease on it and pressed it in then I pressed it in the mount so now everything is tight again But will the material hold I'll let you know later......

Here's a couple of pics I know it aint the best fabrication but i didnt have to spend any more on it. just worked with the only thing I had.

thanks for the feed back Noah, after talking to you on the phone, i think that is has something to do with the install, not that it was done wrong or anything but that there was likely force being applied constantly in the direction that the hole ob-longed.

I believe you had one of the very 1st sets which means you have had it for over a year now, and like you said your constantly at the track!

like i said im going to get you another one because i would like to send yours back to my polyurethane guy and have him look at it to see what he says and if there's anything that can be done to stop this from happening

Maybe if you move that hole a lil further out That might help the situation As for install that was the first one I installed and the easiest. And maybe when I installed the rear is when it put pressure on that mount cause I did loosen the 3 bolts on the trans bracket to the put the mount in and tighten it up and do remember that it had pressure but then again I put down a bunch of 1.7 60 ft and those seem like hard launches i had over 40 track slips not including street launches I smoked a bunch of clowns on the st so you know im not afraid to pushing my car to the limit as for installing I've installed over 10 4g63 motors by myself so I know how to install mount. So we'll get together in A few months after I've launch a few more times and see the results and like you said I had one of the first batches and I'm probably the only DSM that put those mounts to the real test. But not a big deal we'll get it right DSM's will run the tracks pretty soon V8 killer hahaha

i wasnt implying you dont know how to install mounts, i was just saying it may not have be lining up very good, though its still odd that it only happened to the front and not at all to the rear, either way let me know what happens when you get it back together, matter fact give me a call when your going to be putting it back together and ill see if i can make it out there to check things out

Don't trip Adam we'll get it right but the reason I think the back didn't happen is that the bracket is so tight on it that it had no room to move and i mean tight cause when I pulled it off you can we're the bracket was and also you can see that we're the bracket was its thinner than the rest of the mount but who knows why it happen not pointing fingers but if it was my fault then you should provide a manual for em cause to me it seems like I installed it right but I'm not perfect. Armen's were bought on the same order as mine and were gonna install them this week if you like to check it out and this car will be full drag car 600+ AWHP the almighty test let me know when you can make it out and will wait for you to put them on Front and Back and after this point we have true answer of what happen to mine.

But not a big deal I always seem to get that kinda of luck so it's like fuk it lil things aint gonna hold me back lets get your car together and the rest of the Draggsters and let's all take the trip to one of these far ass tracks and put the smash down. We need to make some money out there (bet) pay for the food etc. so we'll be looking for the best driver that will be able to handle the full race car if Armen can't handle it so get your driving skills ready plus we'll have a couple of G's to put on the race..........,,,,,,,,,,
